Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal
The Osanbashi Pier is Yokohama’s oldest pier, originally built to accommodate new international trade following Japan’s opening to the world in the 19th century. Extensively rebuilt between 1987 and 2002, today the Terminal has been reborn as part of the high-tech Minato Mirai 21 waterfront restoration project. The pier can accommodate two 70,000-ton class ships simultaneously. It’s a multi-story construction, with parking on the first floor, customs and immigration offices, ticket booths, the arrival and departure lobby, shopping and a caf? on the second floor, and a public observation deck with grass and wooden boardwalks on the roof.
